India has successfully test-fired K-4 ballistic missile
NEWS
- The test of the K-4 ballistic missile was successfully conducted off the Vizag coast in Andhra Pradesh on 19-01-2020.
- K-4 is a nuclear capable ballistic missile being developed to arm Arihant Class Submarines.
- It is a modified form of AGNI - III missiles, which also has similar range capabilities of 3500 km.
- The missile has been developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
- Till date only 3 other nations, that is, US, Russia and China have submarine-launched ballistic missiles of 3,500-kilometer range.
- To defeat ballistic missile defence systems, the K-4 can perform three-dimensional maneuvers.
